The 2004 QB Gaming Gold Awards Is Almost Ready To Go!
(11/12/2004) After a long hiatus, the QB Gaming Golds are back, and this time, no holds are barred!

Who will rule this year's Gaming Golds?

In 1999, V Planet began what was to become one of the pinnacles of QB gaming history: The Gaming Gold Awards. Watched by all the greats and hopefuls of the QB community, the GGA showcased the biggest and best of all QB games, programmers, teams, characters, and art in all its forms. The greatest QB games of all time, such as Wetspot II, Kids Of Karendow, Ped Xing's Quest, Dark Ages, and 'Ghini Run, all took home some gold, and the most influential programmers and teams further inspired QB gamers and developers alike to raise the bar of QB game development standards.

Three years straight, the GGA went strong, awarding the biggest and best. QB fans expected to see the same award ceremonies in 2003, but it never happened. Around that time, V Planet itself became something of a ghost site, seeing very few updates and turning many visitors away in favor of more populated and updated sites. That trend would continue up to the present time.

Even after a new editor had been assigned to V Planet, updates were still terribly infrequent, with the latest being by not the new editor Nekrophidius but the managing editor, the previous editor of V Planet, Vance Velez. People wondered whether or not V Planet was dead for good, or if it still had some breath left in its old lungs.

In September of 2004, the 2004 QB Gaming Gold Awards were announced on a popular forum, and reported in the October edition of QB Express, owned by comeback king Pete Berg. But silence followed, although behind the scenes, preparations were being made for the re-opening of the Gaming Gold Awards.

So now, the time has come: the 2004 QB Gaming Gold Awards have finally arrived! This year's competition will be live within 48 hours, and the entire QB community is encouraged to come out and show support for their favorite games, programmers, and developers. With a QB community three times as large as in previous years, this year's competition promises to be fiercer than ever before. So let the games begin!
