QuickBasic Magazine becomes one of only two websites to earn the highest rating in Pete's QBasic Site.
When Pete's QBasic Site first launched in 1998, one of the highlights of the QB reviews site is the Must See! Site Award, a prestigious award given to QB sites worthy of recognition. The Must See! Site Award series then expanded to include the Wow! This Site Rules! Award, The QBasic Site of the Millenium, and the QBasic Programmer of the Month. This family of awards, given to many outstanding websites and individuals in the community, had long since been retired. When Pete's QBasic Site reopened in July 2004, webmaster Pete Berg released a new award, the Five Star Award. This new award, designed for a new generation of QB websites, recognizes QB sites that earned a 5 out of 5 rating in Pete's link page. V Planet was also added to the Affiliates list in Pete's QBasic site with the following description: "V Planet! is the greatest QB game reviews site on the Internet, and has also done a great job covering QB Community news since 1999. This site has also hosted the QB Gaming Gold Awards and the QB Expo in years past. V Planet! has enough quality content to keep you busy for days, and Pete's QB Site is proud to promote it as an affiliate." As a fan of many of the first QB magazines like QB:TM and QB on Acid, awards that come from fellow QB magazines hold a special place in our hearts.
