Then the RPG Gold Compo 2003 could be the programming competition of your dreams. Started by Nekrophidius in 2001, the RPG Gold Compo 2003 is a programming event for RPG programmers designed to "encourage competition between game developers", which allows more projects to be completed while also raising the standard for RPGs. Participants may enter up to three RPGs for the contest, in up to three of eight categories: Traditional, Strategy, Action, Adventure, Dungeon, RogueLike, Text, and Hybrid. Absolutely all graphics and sound effects must be original, and all RPGs made must be 100% completed (demos not allowed) by November 30, 2003. Winners are then voted on by those visiting the RPG Gold Compo website. For official rules and registration, plese visit the official RPG Gold Compo website at http://216.222.241.113/rpggold/. The contest is open to all programming languages and even welcomes emulators, so feel free to use whatever you need to make your project shine. But if you're making your game in QB, do the community proud and represent ;) Article Written by Vance Velez, Editor |
