QB
Goes On Fighting Game Frenzy
(12/9/2002) With four big titles, fighting
game fanatics won't need to wait as 2003 looks to be a big year for QB
Fighting Games.
With only Park Fight 2 and Bounty
Fighter serving as the only two such games in V Planet's QB review
list, and a mix of entertaining and not-so-entertaining stick fighter games
making up the rest of the QB fighting game genre, there's a serious need
for some QB programmers to volunteer an update to QB's aging roster of
fighting games.
Fortunately,
fighting game fans won't have to suffer from hunger much longer, as several
QB coding groups are working on some fresh, new titles that will probably
have a 2003 release date. The following four in particular are some fighting
game titles that V Planet is keeping a very close eye on:

Game #1: QB Battle Arena
V Planet Hands-On Experience: In-house
Beta Testing
Just what the heck has V Games
been up to since the announcement of making a fighting game last June?
With six months going into development and the latest demo of the game
being quite playable, this ambitious fighting game made by our in-house
programming team (and primarily headed by yours truly) is not quite ready
for a full hype treatment, but is ready to have an official game name,
QB
Battle Arena. Expect more news and secrets regarding this in-house
title to be revealed very soon.

Game #2: Cobra
V Planet Hands-On Experinece: Secret
Demo
Labeled as "the greatest QB fighting game"
by programmer PJ, don't underestimate Cobra just because it uses
Screen 7 graphics. The exclusive in-house demo of the game we received
already features character AI, multiple special moves, shadows, and other
goods that are above the standard expectations of a QB fighter.

Game #3: QB Dragon Ball Z
V Planet Hands-On Experinece: Released
Demo
With a demo already released and reviewed
by V Planet, QB programmer and Dragon Ball Z fan Ryan Mallon has
established this title as the standard among QB fighting games. With it's
two-player versus mode, players could practice punches, kicks, special
moves, and super moves as the Saiyan prince Vegeta and get a taste of what
this game will have to offer.
Game #4: HD's Unnamed Fighting Game
V Planet Experience: Murmurings on
Forum
No discussion of QB fighting games without
a sort of "secret character", and HD has been dropping hints of
a fighting game being made for QB some time ago, and has since not been
mentioning anything about it.
