2001 QB Expo Cancelled
(8/8/2001) Stop The Presses: Registration information for QB Expo applicants has been erased, making the 2001 QB Expo impossible.

Inbox.net, the e-mail service that houses both the V Planet! Mailbox and the 2001 QB Expo Mailbox, recently killed off the qbexpo@inbox.net account without explanation. This account contains the list of participants for the 2001 QB Expo and took about two months to produce.  It is this critical list of registered participants that serves as a line of communication between people who are interested in showing their projects and people constructing this year's event. Without this list, making the QB Expo is technically impossible.

There were lots of factors working against development of the 2001 QB Expo. First off, although the manpower for the event is substantially higher than before, there was not enough organization with the entire project. Second, many of the people involved with the QB Expo (myself included) have had their share of life problems to deal with. Third, there is no backup of register list. All these other problems would cause about a week or two's delay of the Expo launch, but this latest blow regarding the e-mail account was cummulatively the straw that broke the camel's back.

As a QB games site we hope to provide retribution to eager developers by representing some of the games through the V Planet website. We encourage other webmasters to do the same, and prepare for the 2002 QB Expo should it occur.

We apologize for not being able, despite repeated promises, to set up the QB Expo this year. There were a lot of interesting and innovative projects from some talented programmers that we wanted to share to you this year through the QB Expo. But with the register list removed and the limited timeframe left to organize the event, trying to launch an event like this by summer's end is impossible.
