V Planet
(vplanet.cjb.net)
The first 100% QuickBasic game Review magazine Yet Another Site Makeover (2/28/2000) Our newest site design for V Planet! has easier navigation and an all-around patriotic look. As V Planet! Quickbasic Magazine dives into March, we've decided to change the layout of the magazine again. But this time there are a lot more changes. First of all, you'll hopefully notice that the site loads noticeably faster than ever before. This is because a lot of the cluttery graphics were taken out from the original site design. The QBasic Pathfinder is now smaller and quicker to load. The QB Pathfinder is just one of the many items that have been moved to the new right sidebar which is available only at V Planet's Home Page. In addition, the button Links have been limited to the Home Page only. This reduces the number of graphics that load in most of our pages and inversely increases the movement about our site quite nicely. In addition to speed, we've made the magazine easier to navigate by placing all the sections of the magazine on the left sidebar. Game lists are now given better accessibility by genre (RPGs and Arcade Games). There is also a new section, Game Guides, which will contain strategy guides for some of the tougher QB games (probably a level synopsis of sorts.) Currently, there is only one Game Guide, which is for the first stage of Raven: The Yoyo Commando. If you're having a tough time getting past this stage, make sure you check out the Game Guide. Speaking of new sections, we've chosen The QB Chatroom, a QB chatroom shared by many big QB sites, as the chatroom we will be using for V Planet! Quickbasic magazine. You can use this chatroom to talk about QB programming, QB games, and even other programming languages with developers and gamers just like you. As always, please tell us what you think of the new site layout by e-mailing us or going to the Discussion Board. |
