The first 100% QuickBasic game Review magazine StattoNetwork Closes off Its Sections (5/15/2001) Due to a high workload, QB Affiliate StattoNet has decided to close down some key sections of its site, with its main focus on game programming. Details here.
In a shocking turn of events, QB Affiliate StattoNet announced that many parts of their site will be shutting down. This announcement comes shortly after StattoNet generated high site traffic promoting it's first QB event, the Statto Site Awards. Diamond Titan, the webmaster of StattoNet, cited that a lack of time needed between site updates is the main reason for many of the sections in the site being shut down. However, the StattoNet site as a whole will not be shut down entirely, as the part-time journalists and coding group will now focus on the latter hobby, making new QB games under the Statto Software label. The official message confirming the changes in StattoNet are posted in the site's front page: "Statto Software has shut its web site
down. There will be very occasional updates for when we post our latest
projects on the downloads page. We cannot thank you enough for your support,
but we just do not have enough time to constantly update this web site.
I (Diamond Titan) am still involved with V Planet, and Statto still exists,
just the site will no longer be around.
"Thank you for visiting: we couldn't have done it without you." Since the site made the announcement, the Links Search, Statto Forum, and the QBasic Challenge sections on StattoNet have closed. On a brighter note, Diamond Titan also added that the StattoNetwork site may choose to run the Statto Site Awards every year, and make the StattoNet site the center for that. Diamond Titan is also still a regular at V Planet, with occasional article contributions and some upcoming changes regarding the QB Links section. On a side note, StattoNet did manage to rake in over 3000 hits since December 2000. This is a pretty remarkable feat considering that StattoNet and the Statto Site awards were fully operated by Diamond Titan. It's a wonder that the guy hasn't flipped due to the stress. Or maybe he has... and if that's the case we're happy to have his services along with the rest of the potential whacko QB lovers who work for V Planet Quickbasic Magazine.
